Lip Filler Treatments

Lip enhancement/ augmentation often referred to as "Lip Fillers" is the commonest non-surgical treatment performed in the UK. Lip tissue undergoes the most mechanical and chemical exposure. We spend a lot of the day talking, chewing and making facial expressions. Over time, this leads to the lower one third of our face ageing the fastest. Cultural trends have shifted towards more plump and voluptuous lips causing the growth in lip fillers over recent years.

Lip fillers are made up of low to medium density dermal fillers. They contain Hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring carbohydrate found in our skin cells. Lip fillers allow us to add more of this clear gel like substance to the lips to add volume, define shape and enhance beauty.

The procedure of lip enhancement is just as much artistry as it is science as the skill of the injector leads to the end result. At Tiara Aesthetics we pride our skills and expertise in Lip fillers. We are able to tailor the lip enhancement results to the clients wishes and to what will suit them best. We understand that for some people a "natural but defined" pair of lips is pleasing while for others, fuller "heart shaped" lips are desirable. Dr Thiara discusses each clients expectations and wishes at the consultation to ensure each client leaves with their ideal lips.

Typical areas of concern the Lip Fillers can address:

  • Increases fullness of thin lips.

  • Enhances lip definition and shape

  • Creates a more defined smile with proportioned lips

  • Give the client a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance

  • Create upturned corners of lips

  • Add projection and symmetry to asymmetrical lips

Lip Shapes, Styles (Designer Lips)

Many clients are unsure of the possible lip shapes and outcomes possible with Lip fillers. Below are some popular lip styles/ shapes which can be achieved with the use of advanced injecting techniques and the correct density dermal filler. Not everyone will suit each style and some people will require a combination of styles to suit their individual concerns. This is where Dr Thiara will discuss the best approach to lip filler for each individual during the consultation.

Assessment

This includes a consultation with our team. Discussion of what you are concerned about and looking for. Then medical history and consent form completion.

Treatment

The procedure lasts 20-30 minutes. Topical local anaesthetic cream is applied to numb the lips and peri-oral areas. As a result the discomfort of the procedure is minimised. We do all the massage during the procedure so you don't have to.

Recovery

The majority of people require no downtime following these procedures and can return to work and normal activities the same day. Some basic post procedure instructions apply. Swelling is very common and lasts 5-7 days post procedure.

Result

Results are seen immediately after treatment. Further improvements are seen over the next 7-14 days as the filler integrates and hydrates the area. Results can be expected to last upto 12 months.
